What’s a blue tape walkthrough?
And what’s with all the BLUE TAPE?

When you’re buying a new construction home, before closing, you should “walk-through” the home with a roll of blue tape to mark every spot and issue that needs touch-up or repair. This is your “blue tape walk-through.” On homes that are “resales,” meaning there was a previous owner, you have an inspection conducted on the condition of the home and its systems like the roof and heat & air. New homes have never been lived in, so you work with the builder to resolve any problems like cabinet doors that don’t close properly or the paint or finish is visibly “off.”

Took us months to finally mow the lawn cause it grew so long our mower couldn’t handle it. But I will say, having a home with a yard when you’re stuck at home during quarantine has been nice. There’s room to run and act a fool w this guy, and we’ve been working on making compost for our garden! So glad I left that apartment life behind. 😅
