One year ago I made a decision that changed the trajectory of my career.
Leaving my last role wasn’t easy, but stepping into something aligned, made all the difference.
This past year with Fidelity has been, without question, the best professional move I’ve ever made.
Before joining, my brother introduced me to the concept that stuck: entrepreneurship vs. intrapreneurship. An entrepreneur builds something from the ground up, carrying the risk and the reward. An intrapreneur operates with that same ownership mindset, but within the framework of an established company, leveraging its resources, infrastructure, and support to go further, faster.
What I didn’t fully realize at the time is just how much that definition described me.
I’m wired to build. I’m energized by identifying opportunities, creating systems, developing people, and turning ideas into something tangible. I want to move quickly, think creatively, and take ownership of outcomes, but I also deeply value collaboration, shared vision, and being part of something bigger than myself. Intrapreneurship allows me to do both. It gives me the autonomy to lead and create, while surrounding me with the support, stability, and strength of a company that’s invested in long-term success.
That alignment has been everything.
What stands out most is the balance: a company that provides real support, resources, and vision, while also empowering its people to think, act, and build like entrepreneurs. That level of trust creates something special. It pushes you to take ownership, to innovate, and to show up at a higher level. In a market that is constantly shifting, having that backing doesn’t just make a difference, it fills my bucket. It allows me to navigate change with confidence, knowing I’m supported while still being empowered to lead.
But more than anything, it’s the people.
I get to work alongside a team that is talented, driven, collaborative and genuinely interested in each other’s success. There’s an energy here that I’ve never seen before. It makes the work not just meaningful, but fun. And winning is fun, right ?
Thanks .atx for the opportunity and your leadership!
