For those of you who do not know, this is the NAR gratitude coin. The coins were first unveiled at the 2018 NAR Leadership Summit, where incoming local, state, and national REALTOR® leaders and Association Executives were presented with the coins in appreciation for their commitment to serve their fellow REALTORS® and their willingness to lead our associations. While the coins serve as tokens of gratitude, receivers do not keep the coins. Recipients are instructed to re-gift the coins, to pass them along to other REALTORS® who embody this spirit.

While I know the NAR isn’t exactly everyone’s favorite organization right now, it’s not about the association behind the coin that matters to me. It’s the meaning given to it by the person who passed their coin on to me. Last night, I received this coin at the Amazing Realty Awards celebration from Jennifer Tucker. It means the world to me that she thinks so highly of me and the contributions I have made to her Brokerage in such a short time. Given even more meaning knowing that she was gifted this coin by another important influence in my life, Bryan Hutchinson. It truly reminds me of what this industry is supposed to be all about; supporting each other, lifting each other up, and recognizing each other’s accomplishments so we can all be successful together. So now I will register my coin so I can see the path of excellence that came before me, and hopefully contribute to the successes of those that follow.
