During a total solar eclipse we can experience the temperature drop, night sounds like crickets and stronger scents from plants that need to be pollinated by night. The blind and low-vision can now also experience the eclipse with sound.

I learned about the LightSound eclipse sonification device for the blind and low-vision at March's Austin Astronomical Society meeting. The LightSound Project had a goal to build 170 devices the following day at Austin Nature & Science Center. We were invited to help build devices. I relearned to solder components onto circuit boards. It was fun and rewarding.
