Comal County continues to grow at a rapid pace.

New data shows the county’s population increased by 27.8% from 2020 to 2025, jumping from about 163,600 residents to more than 209,000. Much of that growth is being driven by people moving into the area from other parts of Texas and the country.

Jeffrey and Levi Baldwin spent years battling their Charlotte, NC, HOA after being fined in 2022 for parking a so-called “commercial vehicle” in their driveway.

The dispute snowballed into liens, rejected payments, and a foreclosure threat over alleged unpaid dues, costing the couple more than $10,000 in legal fees. This week, the HOA withdrew its foreclosure petition, ending the case.

“Owning a home is the American dream, and my HOA was trying to take that away from me,” Jeffrey Baldwin said, calling for greater accountability and reform of HOAs.
