Daily reminder that the FED does not control the mortgage interest rate! Lately it has seemed that they even move opposite of each other, where mortgage rates have been more likely to go UP after the FED cuts than down to match :/

This article is interesting because the last few times the FED cut, the mortgage rates were going down right BEFORE the FED meeting. The lowest day for rates was usually 1-5 days right before. Not this time! This time they've been going up since Thanksgiving. Will be interesting to see what happens after the announcement tomorrow!

Mortgage rates are rising sharply even though the Federal Reserve is expected to cut interest rates later this week.
