50 years of homebuilding adds up to a lot more than homes.

Since David Weekley Homes began in Houston in 1976, each decade has added another chapter to our story.

Along the way, we’ve celebrated the closing of our 100,000th home, earned more than 1,500 awards recognizing our design, service and workplace culture, and reached a point where more than 90% of our Homeowners say they would recommend us.

Those numbers mean a lot to us, but the people behind them mean even more. They represent generations of Homeowners who trusted us with an important part of their lives, Team Members who brought their talents to work each day and communities that welcomed us in.

As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we’re grateful for everyone who helped turn five decades of Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives into a story worth celebrating.

A beautifully designed home located in our close-knit, boutique community inspired by the Twilight series. This gated enclave offers both privacy and personality, with the added bonus of easy access to nearby retail, dining, and top-rated amenities — all just 20 minutes from Downtown Austin.

Designed with intention, this home features no wasted space, maximizing livability across two thoughtfully planned levels. The upstairs living area was strategically placed to take full advantage of 180 degree sweeping views of downtown Austin and the treetops beyond.

The home layout provides a natural separation between your private sleeping quarters and guest/workspaces below. Soaring ceilings and oversized windows flood the home with natural light, while luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout the majority of the home is stylish, durable, and easy to maintain.

This home blends modern finishes with smart design choices, all within a charming, community-focused neighborhood.

A clean caulk line helps keep moisture from finding its way behind your tub or shower.

Reapplying caulk is a manageable home maintenance project, but preparation and timing make a difference.

1. Begin with a completely dry surface. Any moisture left in the joint can affect the seal.

2. Caulk the vertical seams first, then work toward the outside. Apply the fresh caulk directly into the joint, keeping the bead no wider than ¼ inch. If you’re using a caulk gun, cut only enough from the tube’s tip to create the bead size you need.

3. Moisten your finger with a damp sponge, then glide it along the joint to press and smooth the caulk. Wipe away excess promptly. If the line becomes too uneven, remove the wet caulk and try again.

4. Check each finished section for gaps. Add a small amount where needed and smooth it into place.

Caulk begins drying within minutes, so plan to complete the entire job without interruptions. A stopping point may not seal properly, allowing moisture and mildew to enter. Let the new caulk dry overnight before using the tub or shower.

The answer often starts behind the walls.

At David Weekley Homes, thoughtful design goes beyond the floor plan. From Sight Lines and natural light to framing techniques and load distribution, the structure of your home is considered around how you'll actually live in it.

That includes using two-by-six framing spaced 24 inches apart to create more room for insulation, engineering walls and roof framing to align for efficient load transfer, and incorporating architectural details that add visual depth. Even pest control is considered, with built-in exterior cavities designed to be treated before pests enter your home.

It's all part of Designing the Weekley Way, bringing architecture, craftsmanship, and practical innovation together to create a home that feels comfortable, intuitive, and distinctly yours.

A great floor plan isn’t just about square footage. It’s about how the space works when you’re actually living in it.

When you’re comparing floor plans, it’s easy to start with bedrooms, bathrooms and square footage. But some of the details you’ll appreciate most won’t show up on a list of dimensions.

That’s why David Weekley Homes uses LifeDesign℠ to consider how you’ll move through and experience your home every day. Room Placement can give your Owner’s Retreat greater privacy. Thoughtful Traffic Patterns help keep pathways from interrupting the family room. Sight Lines consider what you’ll see from places like the kitchen island or dining table, while Windows & Light help create spaces that feel bright and welcoming.

Even the kitchen island is positioned with daily life in mind, helping you stay connected to the family and dining areas while preparing dinner. It all comes back to one question: How will you really live here?

When you’re choosing a floor plan, what matters most to you:
A. Privacy
B. Natural light
C. Open gathering spaces
D. Easy flow

Before you ever step through the front door, architecture begins shaping your experience of home.

A welcoming front porch invites neighbors to stop and chat. Expansive windows fill your favorite spaces with natural light. Thoughtfully designed rooflines, entryways and exterior details create a first impression that continues to influence how your home lives every day.

Great architecture isn't simply about style; it's about creating spaces that feel comfortable, functional and timeless. Every design decision works together to support the moments that matter most, from quiet mornings with a cup of coffee to celebrations shared with family and friends.

Whether you are drawn to classic charm or clean, contemporary lines, understanding how architecture shapes how you live can help you discover a home that feels as if it were designed just for you.

Which architectural feature makes a home feel most welcoming to you?

A. A front porch
B. Large windows
C. Distinctive rooflines
D. Something else
