Still not quite over my trip home to London a couple of weeks ago.

Yes, there were walks, family, friends, all the lovely sentimental stuff.

But the real highlight was bombing around London on an e-bike in the sunshine, weaving through traffic, flying past some of the most iconic sights in the world, and feeling, briefly and probably irresponsibly, like I had absolutely nailed being a Londoner again.

I’m now back in Austin, very grateful for the consistent sunshine, but emotionally I’m still somewhere between a black cab, a bacon sarnie, and my body weight in Cadburys.

Home is a funny thing. You can leave it, move across the world, build a whole life somewhere else…and still be completely undone by a corner shop chocolate aisle.

And now, somehow, I’ve found myself on the other side of it… trying to create sweet family memories while my own children actively work against the aesthetic.

One daughter tolerating my public affection with the enthusiasm of a hostage negotiator, the other making sure the photo can never be framed in front of grandparents.

Absolutely perfect, honestly.

From being the daughter in the first photo to the mum in the second, I feel very lucky for it all. Love them all beyond reason. 🇬🇧✨
