Step into sultry, soulful, and vibrant atmosphere of East Austin’s newest hotel: bohème.
East Austin isn’t exactly short on interesting places to eat, drink, or stay, but this new boutique hotel opening this month definitely caught our attention. bohème is opening at 400 Comal Street with just 20 rooms, including six individually designed suites inspired by different pieces of Austin’s culture. The building itself isn’t new either. What was originally a sustainable apartment building has been completely reimagined as a small, design-focused hotel.
And you don’t even need to book a room to check it out. Higher Spirits, the hotel’s rooftop lounge, will feature skyline views and a 1,000-square-foot lawn planned for live music, screenings, and other events. Downstairs, Sacred Souls will offer a more intimate cocktail lounge.
It’s another example of what makes East Austin interesting: taking something that was already there, giving it an entirely new purpose, and making it feel distinctly Austin in the process.
