I have sent emails to my active clients, but thought an umbrella note to all of you here might also help. A lot has happened in the Austin real estate world in the last couple weeks. Are some buyers too afraid to tour and, therefore, delaying their purchase? Yes. Are some sellers too afraid to list their homes (especially occupied) and, therefore, delaying their listing? Yes. BUT business is still open and we are all adapting with safe, distanced home tours and sales. My broker and Austin Board President, Kevin Scanlan, recently published a video with a great metaphor: The market is like a garden hose that's been crimped. When we get the hose straightened, will the water just come trickling out? No way! The water comes gushing out, and I think that's the rebound we can expect in Austin when the time comes. Right now, my bets are on Spring 2021, we'll be back to the exciting and fast-paced market we saw in Feb 2020. Everyone stay safe out there and keep your 6ft distances! 👌
