Get Ready... construction of the 183 North Mobility Project is on the horizon. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2022 on the nine-mile stretch of US 183 between SH 45 North and MoPac. The project includes the construction of two express lanes in each direction and the addition of a general-purpose lane to bring the number of non-tolled lanes to four in each direction. The project will construct an express lane direct connector between the new US 183 express lanes and the existing MoPac express lanes. The project also includes operational improvements to southbound MoPac, new shared use path connections, new sidewalks and cross-street connections for bicycles/pedestrians.

"...an average of 36% of the US workforce was back in the office last week in 10 major cities monitored by Kastle Systems. It’s the largest share of workers going into the office since the pandemic began." Our take: The office is not dead! Hybrid work is likely here to stay but the office serves an important role for most companies. Offices are going to be a lot busier in 2022.

A poll from The Brew newsletter readers:

“No commute” was the top choice for what readers like most about working from home. Readers said socializing with colleagues was the thing they missed most about not working in an office, followed by the opportunity to work in a different setting other than their house. 66% of readers said working from home during the pandemic was better than expected.

Our take... Employers need to embrace hybrid work to keep employees happy.
