I’m about to take a room in our house from light beige to DARK brown and my husband is convinced he won’t be able to tell the difference!

Paint colors are getting warmer, moodier and richer in 2026! Warm taupes, earthy greens, creamy neutrals, chocolate browns and deep, saturated colors are replacing the cool grays we’ve seen everywhere for years.

And yes… sometimes the right paint color really can change the entire feel of a room.

Now the real question: Would you paint a room dark brown—or is my husband right to be concerned? 😂 Example picture below!

When someone asks me to sell their home, they aren’t handing me “content” for social media or another address to add to my list of sales.

They’re trusting me with one of their largest financial assets—and often, a place that holds years of memories.

For a short period of time, that home becomes my responsibility.

That means I care about how it looks in photos.
How it feels when a buyer walks through the door.
How it’s priced and positioned.
How quickly questions are answered.
How feedback is handled.
And how my sellers are communicated with when things feel uncertain.

Because behind every listing is a person going through some kind of change—moving up, downsizing, relocating, starting over, settling an estate, or simply moving on to the next chapter.

I don’t believe putting a sign in the yard and uploading photos to the MLS is enough.

One of the Most Overlooked Pre-Listing Updates? Lighting!

Dated light fixtures can instantly age a room. Swapping them for something simple and updated can completely change how a space photographs and feels to buyers.

And don’t forget the bulbs—consistent, warm lighting throughout the home makes a BIG difference.
