OUR SALE IS PENDING—- CLOSING 8/13/18! 🎉🍾🍾🎉🏠🌊🌊🌊🎉🎉—— Yes! That’s this coming Monday! 😳

We held our breath, and 🤞🤞🤞as our buyer did his due diligence -– – checking to see if he can build his new dream home on our property… fortunately, for all concerned, he can!

While we’ve known for about a week that it was “full steam ahead“, in the real world, today we are legally “full steam ahead”!!!

The soon-to-be owners plan to enjoy the end of the summer Sittin On The Dock Of our Mom’s beloved house; once permits are in order, her house will be... hmmmm... RETIRED, and they will begin building their new Dream Home!

Wishing them as much fun on the bay, as we’ve had!

We’ve seen a bunch of these short-legged herons around, this year; this one is visiting our next-door neighbors’ dock.

If you want to see where they nest, it’s a short walk up to Ocean Drive and 42nd St.; look up into the trees on the north east corner. There are several nests there… Don’t know if the babies will still be around. They don’t seem to care that you’re looking at them; they just look back!

Yes, I know the bay is the star at this house… But I loved seeing our planters (on the Fish Room front balcony) starting to bloom. We were hoping they’d give the feeling of being on one of the Avalon beach paths… I think we succeeded!

I saw another one—- this time I’m sure of it!… Bald eagle, in the marshes around the causeway, as I was driving out of Avalon around 5 PM. It was just a quick glimpse, but that’s definitely what it was!

Ran out to bring in the ladder from the dock… Ran back into the house to get my iPad!

Bear in mind that this picture is taken by an amateur with an iPad—- which was being buffeted around by the wind. You can only imagine how beautiful it was in person!

Did you know that there delicious 0 cal ice cream at Springer’s, in Stone Harbor? It’s homemade and really yummy… Tastes just exactly like any other ice cream!… But only if you walk from “Sittin On the Dock Of”, wander down along the beach, then back to Avalon via Ocean Drive… 7 1/2 miles. Well worth it!

There is also really delicious 0 cal ice cream in Avalon, but you would have to walk from Stone Harbor, and back.

Good morning! The weekend is supposed to be rainy, but the forecast for today is paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, and grilling dinner on the deck.

The actual high will be 80... same as it’s been the last few days.

While we have a great central AC system, now, we also have windows and sliders that made it possible to be cool here in the 70s – – – pre-AC. If you want it to feel like summer—- but don’t want to roast—- just open the sliders on the shady side of the house, close blinds and windows on the sunny side… except some of the little ones up near the top that let the heat escape. Avalon—- “Cooler by a Mile”!
