The wait is finally over… Buc-ee’s officially opens its doors in Goodyear on Monday, June 22 at 6:00 AM! 🦫⛽🍖

Why is everyone so excited about a gas station? Because Buc-ee’s is SO much more than that.

✨ Fun Facts:
• Buc-ee’s is famous for having some of the cleanest restrooms in America (yes, they even have awards for it 🏆).
• Their stores are massive, often featuring 100+ fuel pumps and thousands of unique products.
• They’re known for their fresh brisket sandwiches, homemade fudge, jerky wall, and the iconic Beaver Nuggets.
• Buc-ee’s started in Texas in 1982 and developed a cult-like following across the country.
• Before Arizona, Buc-ee’s had expanded into states including Texas, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, Colorado, Mississippi, and Virginia. This will be Arizona’s very first Buc-ee’s location!

I traded home tours for a history lesson and took my daughter to the Little Heritage Museum in Litchfield Park.

I thought I was taking my daughter to learn about the past, but I ended up learning just as much myself.

Did you know Goodyear’s connection to cotton dates back to World War I? Or that the city was named after Charles Goodyear, whose work with rubber helped transform transportation around the world?

One of the most fascinating parts was seeing tools and equipment from decades ago and realizing how many things haven’t changed as much as we think they have.

The volunteers were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the history of our community. It was a great reminder that some of the best family adventures aren’t expensive or far away—they’re right here in our own backyard.

If you’re looking for something fun and educational to do with your kids this summer, add this one to your list.
