🇺🇸 It takes an island to make our Grand Old 4th happen: A call for volunteers!

Bainbridge Island’s Grand Old Fourth of July events work because so many people volunteer to help.

Can you help out?

Volunteers are still needed for parade support, vendor help, family activities, setup, teardown, information booths, and more.

Whether you have a couple of hours or more time to give, there’s something for everyone to pitch in

Your time will be rewarded: You can get a front-row seat to one of our Island’s favorite community traditions, plus a little swag, snacks, drinks, and an invitation to the volunteer appreciation party.

Most importantly, you’ll help make the day smoother, safer, and more fun for everyone.

💙 Bainbridge Island Sakai pride at the Mariners game! 🎶

What an incredible experience for the Sakai School Choir, performing the national anthem before a Seattle Mariners game!

Led by choir teacher Katie Gibbs, these students represented Bainbridge Island beautifully, with confidence, poise and voices that made our community proud.

Moments like this make me appreciate even more where we live.

Congratulations to all the amazing singers for an unforgettable night!

🌲 Help finish Bainbridge Island’s Lost Valley Trail!

This year’s Trillium Trail Run brought out more than 300 runners to RUN FOR THE TRAILS, and I was proud to be both an event sponsor and one of the runners.

It was a great morning for an even better cause: Helping complete the Lost Valley Trail & Boardwalk, the final link in the cross-island route from downtown Bainbridge Island to Gazzam Lake.

A $10,000 Challenge Match from the Bainbridge Rotary is live now through National Trails Day, June 6.

🏃‍♂️ I ran. Now I’m asking you to help us cross the finish line.

And mark your calendar for next year’s Trillium Trail Run: Saturday, May 8, 2027!

🗝️ AI is changing real estate. And the danger?

If you are a buyer or seller using AI for your real estate transaction, read this 👉 jasonshutt.com/adapt-or-die-ai-in-real-estate

AI can be a powerful tool, but it is not a substitute for local market knowledge, skilled negotiation, or the judgment that comes from real experience.

AI hallucinates. AI doesn’t have a real estate license.

Here’s what Bainbridge Island buyers and sellers must understand before relying on AI insight for what is likely the biggest financial decision they’ll ever make: jasonshutt.com/adapt-or-die-ai-in-real-estate

April’s Bainbridge Island real estate market brought more sales, more listings, and a clear reminder: pricing still matters.

📈 Sales nearly doubled from March
17 of 29 homes sold in about a week or less
Fast-selling homes averaged 2.6% over asking
Pending sales rose 13% month over month
Median sale price was $1,350,000
Active listings jumped 75% from March

Even with just 1.9 months of supply, buyers are gaining more negotiating room than they’ve had in the last few years. Only 21% of pending contracts had multiple offers, and inspection and financing contingencies are showing up more often.

⛴️ GOOD MORNING AMERICA takes a Bainbridge ferry!

What a great national spotlight for one of the most iconic experiences anywhere: Riding the Seattle/Bainbridge ferry.

ABC’s “Good Morning America” came aboard the Wenatchee yesterday morning as part of its “50 States in 50 Weeks: America the Beautiful” series, showcasing a daily commute that feels anything but ordinary.

🌲For Bainbridge, our ferry is more than transportation. It’s part of our rhythm, our connection to Seattle, and a daily reminder of what makes our island so special and why I love helping families move here.

Our commute truly is one of a kind.
