Your chimney needs an effective Spark Arrester✔️

Spark Arresters (also called Chimney Caps) serve several purposes, regardless of your fireplace usage habits.

Aside from being a CA Building Code REQUIREMENT for fire prevention, Spark Arresters:

• Prevent destructive moisture (rain) from entering the chimney system which can break-down your mortar joints, corrode your steel damper assembly, and result in an unpleasant mildew smell in warm weather

• Keep wildlife from seeking refuge inside your chimney and possibly entering your living. Creatures often get stuck and require a professional animal or pest control service (or even the fire department) to remove them

• Blocks small branches, leaves, and other overhanging and nearby foliage from falling down your chimney which can create a blockage. Not only are leaves and sticks combustible, this blockage poses a carbon monoxide exposure risk.
