There is something so lovely about making Easter eggs this way, using simple ingredients from the kitchen and letting the colors come to life slowly.

To create these perfectly imperfect eggs, start by simmering your natural ingredients in water, things like beets, onion skins, turmeric, purple cabbage, blueberries, or hibiscus flowers. Once the color has deepened, strain the liquid and add a splash of white vinegar. Then place your eggs (they should already be hard boiled) in the dye bath and let them rest. The longer they sit, the richer the color becomes.

What we love most is that no two eggs turn out exactly the same. Some come out soft and speckled, others bold and bright, and that is the beauty of it. A little patience, a little experimenting, and a willingness to let nature do what it does best.

Perfectly imperfect, and all the more beautiful for it.

Sen. Adam Schiff introduced a bill to ban institutional investors from buying properties in federally declared disaster areas for six months after a disaster. S.3961 defines investors as companies owning 75 or more homes and prohibits them from soliciting distressed homeowners to sell.

The measure follows California's early-2025 wildfires, which destroyed 16,000 structures and caused $131 billion in property losses. Pacific Palisades and Altadena alone lost $8.3 billion in home value, highlighting the lucrative potential for investors rebuilding on devastated lots.
