If you’re shopping for a home in Maine, a ‘tour’ isn’t only when you personally walk inside the property.

A tour includes entering the home—and it can also include your agent entering the property to give you a live virtual tour while you’re somewhere else.

That’s especially important for out-of-state buyers moving to Maine.

So whether you’re standing beside me at the front door or watching from your phone in another state, let’s get the paperwork and expectations clear before the tour. A “home tour” can include more than physically walking through the property yourself.

Under the FAQ, touring includes the buyer and/or agent entering the home. It also includes an agent entering the property to provide a live virtual tour for a buyer who isn’t physically there. For purposes of this rule, a home is a residential property with 1–4 dwelling units.

That’s especially helpful to understand if you’re relocating to Maine and planning to tour homes by FaceTime or video.
