Our week exploring Downeast Maine began at a quiet house tucked away at the end of Marsh Road in Gouldsboro. Surrounded by spruce forest, gardens, and a tidal shoreline, it quickly became more than just a place to stay. It was where mornings started with coffee and cameras, and evenings ended with seafood dinners, photo editing, and plans for the next day’s adventure.

Before setting out to explore, I wandered the property with my camera, photographing wildflowers, insects, birds, and the changing light along the shore. The gardens were alive with pollinators, and every walk seemed to reveal another small detail worth stopping to appreciate.

By the end of the week, the house had become as much a part of the trip as any lighthouse or coastal trail. It was the place we returned to each evening to relax, share stories, and prepare for whatever waited beyond Marsh Road the next morning.
