Hiking is one of our favorite activities in the high country. Numerous trails can be found in the area around Hemlock Ridge, including Otter Falls, Grandfather Mountain, Bass Lake, Trout Lake, Price Lake, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Grandfather Winery on Hwy. 105 is near the cabin and is a great place for adults to enjoy a glass of wine while the kids play in the river!

We found a beautiful trail beside the river in Banner Elk today. Added bonus was the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center with owls, red tailed hawks, and more. Only a short 10-15 minute from Hemlock Ridge!
