New Years at Scrollrock
I can’t say enough about this cabin! It was exactly as depicted on the site AND MORE. My daughters (8 & 9) had the time of their lives. We hiked and explored the property with our dog and were in the stream every day. It was freezing but the hot tub in the back deck and gas stove inside kept us all toasty. We were scheduled to stay 5 nights and ended up extending an extra 2 days. It was secluded but close enough to lots of attractions and cute shops/diners. The upstairs is absolutely adorable and was the perfect space for the three of us (traveling with girls and their suitcases….haha) to spread out and have our own space. We loved the rustic and authenticity of the original wood displayed throughout the cabin and decor. It was a breath of fresh air and serenity for this “post Christmas” single mom!

Scrollrock survived Helene! No issues with cabin! A few trees down. The creek temporarily split above the cabin and went down driveway and made the original creek wider. Large rocks moved. And gain a few more small waterfalls.

Driveway is now ok. Needs new gravel.

Boone opened up today for tourism but Banner Elk does not have water and is not open yet.
Pigeon Roost road is fine.

Peaceful and lovely getaway
Lovely, comfortable cabin full of rustic charm, well-appointed w/ homey touches on a pretty slice of mountain heaven replete with firepit next to bubbling stream that runs throughout. As close to perfect as you can get for that peaceful, quiet getaway. 5/5

What a wonderful find!
What a wonderful find, tucked up against the mountains amongst the trees. A private little get away where you can get lost in the middle of trees and amazing woodland plants. Enjoyed the evenings in the hot tub watching all the different birds and sounds of the stream. Meals on the porch or sitting with a cup of coffee, Relaxing! The inside was just as charming cozy and warm. Just right for a game of checkers nothing like getting the competitive juices flowing. Well-appointed with whatever you needed at your fingertips. Beds were comfy and warm, with the sound of the stream lulling you to sleep each night. If you're looking for a quiet place to reconnect you have found it in Scrollrock.

Ran across this - sallie captured our Scrollrock this past January. So special.

One of the best things about driving around our mountain roads is the little treasures you find, like this beautiful cabin. I have admired it for years but in the snow it is simply perfect.

Just as described
My husband and I wanted to get away to a little cabin in the woods for a few days to unplug from life. This place was exactly as described. From the moment we opened the car door we could hear the creek rustling by the cabin. It was so peaceful and quiet. Just what we needed. We enjoyed our time here. It was close enough to Banner Elk and Valle Crusis -and, we found many places to hike, dine, and explore fairly close by when we ventured away from the cabin.
