Full time first shift (with some after-hours emergency hours) construction laborer position 32-40 hours per week.
Individual should have their own maintenance appropriate vehicle and equipment. (Hand tools: saws, hammers, screwdrivers, crow bars. Power tools: circular saws, drills, nail guns) Must be able to perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting and drywall.
Responsibilities for Construction Laborer
Carpentry:
• Hanging kitchen cabinets
• Replacing counter tops
• Hanging doors
• Replacing / cutting wood trim and wood molding
Painting/Drywall/Texture:
• Drywall - doorknob holes to hanging entire sheets, taping, mudding, matching texture
• Paint - interior and exterior
Plumbing:
• Replacing electric hot water heaters
• Testing and replacing elements in electric hot water heaters
• Replacing faucet cartridges and faucets
• Replacing garbage disposals
• Setting toilets
• Repairing toilet tank parts
• Snaking drains
Flooring:
• Installing vinyl flooring (no seaming required)
• Install LVP (luxury vinyl plank) floors
• Install carpeting and pad
Electrical:
• Replacing light fixtures
• Trouble shooting intercom systems
• Trouble shoot fire alarm system
Miscellaneous
• Hanging blinds
• Appliance repair: dishwashers, sleeve a/c units, refrigerators, electric stoves, electric dryers and washing machines
• Must not be afraid of extension ladders
Time/Efficiency:
• Ready the construction site each day for the current project by preparing materials, tools, and equipment.
• Apply new project instructions for each job and adjust as direction by the construction manager or supervisor.
• Maintain a brisk and productive pace of activities to complete all assigned tasks within time constraints.
• Leave construction equipment and tools clean, organized, and stored in an orderly fashion.
• Dispose of debris and hazardous materials.
• Help other team members on various tasks
Qualifications for Construction Laborer
• Familiarity with hand tools such as power drills, hammers, and saws.
• Ability to perform repetitive actions using your hands, arms, wrists, fingers, legs, or other body parts.
• General knowledge of construction operations and procedures.
• Ability to work well with a team.
• Physical fitness –must be able to lift, carry, stand, bend, and kneel for long periods of time, which requires stamina and physical endurance.
• Math skills – understanding measurements and simple math operations.
• Time management – meeting deadlines and completing projects on time.
• Attention to detail –must ensure that projects adhere to all specifications.
• Troubleshooting – when any aspect of the remodeling process runs into trouble, must be able to address these issues and offer viable, effective solutions.
• Analytical thinking – interpreting blueprints, schematics, and drawings calls for above-average analytical skills.
Emergency Calls - must be available to assist with emergency calls.
Candidate must a neat personal appearance and a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Criminal background check.
