Last night, Axe told me she wanted to get herself up, make her own breakfast and lunch, and walk to the bus by herself. This morning, she did.

Parenthood is being so proud when they say, “I can do it myself,” while quietly wishing they still need you.

Then she came home, said she missed me, and asked me to be there tomorrow morning. ❤️

This part of parenting is beautiful and brutal.
