This closing was a reminder that real estate is rarely just about buying or selling a home.

For my seller, 820 Peninsula Drive was home for the past 18 years. A home her husband built and together they created a lifetime of wonderful memories within those walls.

After losing her husband, selling the home was an emotional step into a new chapter.

As agents, we talk a lot about contracts, negotiations, inspections, pricing and getting to the closing table.

But sometimes, our job is also to recognize that there is a person behind the transaction and that handing over the keys can carry a lot of emotion.

I’m honored she trusted me to guide her through such a personal transition.

The house is sold but the memories aren’t. 💙

Confessions from a Realtor who actually wants what’s best for you.

Here’s something I wish more people understood about working with a real estate advisor:

My job isn’t to convince you to buy or sell a house.

My job is to help you make a smart, confident decision even when that means telling you something you may not want to hear.

I’ll tell you when I think a home is overpriced.
I’ll tell you when I think you should walk away.
I’ll answer the questions you’re afraid might sound “dumb.”
I’ll negotiate your money as carefully as I would my own.
And yes, I would rather lose a deal than watch you make a decision I don’t believe is right for you.
