Did you know that Punxsutawney Phil has been predicting how long winter will be since 1887!

Now I'm no expert on the lifespan of a groundhog but I can bet that his age has something to do with why he's only been 30% accurate in the last 10 years!

Are we going to let a 139-year-old rodent keep us from preparing for spring!

I can predict with more than his 30% that the spring market coming up is going to be hopping! Let's get ready!

The first month of the year often seems like it's never-ending. Especially for me. I'd like to feel special because it's my birthday month, but the weather is like NO! So, I'm here watching everyone else move on with their lives like brr, see you all in February and I'll just be ... aging... slowly... in the TUNDRA! But then BAM we survived. And CAKE!!

Okay guys, while there were some things we all should have done before now to be ready for winter, there are still some last-minute things we can do to protect our homes.

✅ Make sure your hose is disconnected and drained, then place one of those inexpensive foam insulators over your faucet. These have always worked for me.

✅ When temps are low you may want to leave your faucet dripping. Especially in older homes or those with kitchens or bathrooms on exterior walls.

✅Open the cabinet doors under your dripping sinks to allow the warm air into the exposed pipes.

✅Change your return air filter. Your HVAC system is going to be working hard to keep the home warm. This will prevent strain.

✅ Prepare your favorite recliner by gathering your blanket and mug of hot drink. Load a binge worthy show and enjoy your snow days!
