Rene and Candice….
Rene is a retired undercover police officer. One day he pointed at his tattoos and said, “See all these tattoos? Travis County paid for them. I was undercover with gangs.” If you know me and my Narco obsession, you know I thought that was the coolest thing ever 😂 But honestly… that’s not the story I want y’all to pay attention to.
One day Rene was out putting corn out and setting cameras to track the exotic animals. The seller had told him he could. He was pulling on the strip across the top of the bag and finally grabbed his pocket knife to cut it open. I said, “Rene… you see that white string? You can pull that to open the bag.” He looked at me, laughed, and said, “Dang, this city boy has a lot to learn.”
And honestly… I loved that moment.
Rene and Candice had a hunting lease for years, but the retirement dream was always to own their own exotic ranch someday.
A while back someone asked me, “You’re in that line of business now where all these city people are wearing boots and cowboy hats, but they’ve never thrown a leg over a horse. What do you think about that?”
My response was simple: “I love it.”
I grew up in an era where it wasn’t “cool” to be cowboy. People said cow farts were ruining the earth, beef was bad for you, and rodeo was animal abuse. So now, when clients and friends think the country lifestyle is the coolest thing and genuinely want to learn about it… put me in coach 🙋🏻♀️
Because I LOVEEE the lifestyle I got to grow up in. I love the hard work, the land, the stories, the community, the slower pace, and the way ranch life humbles you. And I want other people to get to experience what I did growing up.
I’ll teach anyone the ropes, whether you sit across from corporate tables in a blazer every day or wear a cowboy hat that looks like it could tell more stories than most people ever could. If you genuinely want to learn and appreciate this lifestyle, you can count on me to root for you every single time.
Rene and Candice, I am so excited for y’all and so thankful I got to be a part of making one of your dreams become reality. 🤍
