New data shows that the commercial market is stabilizing, according to NAR’s latest Commercial Markets Insights Report.
• Office: Continues to stabilize, with stronger absorption and slightly lower vacancy, though recovery remains uneven across property classes.
• Multifamily: Demand has outpaced new supply, helping reduce vacancy and gradually strengthening rent growth.
• Retail: Remains resilient, with broad-based demand, historically low vacancy and continued rent growth, despite some risk from incoming supply.
• Industrial: Demand has strengthened as the sector continues to work through excess inventory, though rent growth remains restrained.
This report shows where the market is today. To see where demand may be headed, check out NAR's new Commercial Real Estate Demand Index. The quarterly index ranks 306 metro areas on the local job, population and migration trends that drive future demand for commercial space, often before those trends show up in vacancy rates or rents.
