Secretariat won the Kentucky Derby more than 50 years ago, and somehow he’s still in this year’s race.

Of the 20 horses in today’s Derby field, 19 are direct descendants of Secretariat.

That means Big Red’s bloodline still dominates the biggest race in America, more than five decades after setting records that still haven’t been broken.

Only one horse in the field comes from outside the Secretariat family tree.

Different horse. Same shadow.

That’s not just legacy. That’s immortality. 🐎🔥

In 2021, I presented Lauren Daigle with a Key to the City of Lafayette, and now she will be headlining Festival International de Louisiane! Lauren is an inspirational Ambassador for our community. It will be exciting to listen to her showcase our Louisiana culture, which is derived from several countries, on the big stage.
