Please join us in welcoming two new members to the Haven of Rest Board of Directors — Zach Knaus and Judge Tracie Tomak!
Zach serves as the Treatment Court Coordinator in Calhoun County, where he works closely with justice-involved individuals to support accountability, stability, and long-term success. He brings valuable experience in coordination, partnership building, and advocacy — along with a strong commitment to serving our community.

Judge Tracie Tomak serves in Calhoun County’s 10th District Court and presides over the Domestic Violence Intervention Court and Driver’s License Restoration Court. A longtime community volunteer and former Charitable Union board member, she brings extensive leadership experience and a deep commitment to service and restorative justice. Judge Tomak will also serve as Secretary of the Haven of Rest Board.

We are grateful to welcome Zachary and Judge Tomak to the Haven family and look forward to the insight, leadership, and compassion they will bring as we continue serving individuals and families throughout our community.

Hi Haven Nation! It's been Soooooo long since we made a "Hey, we need TP supplies" type of a post. Now that we're into September, it's time to revisit this number one (and two) supply need of the Haven. Can you help?? The Haven of Rest Ministries is grateful to the Consumers Energy Foundation for a generous $40,000 grant supporting the continued construction of our new kitchen and dining facility at our downtown Battle Creek campus.

Executive Director Daniel Jones (pictured on left) recently joined Greg Moore, Consumers Energy Senior Community Affairs Manager, (on right) to celebrate this important investment in the Haven and the people we serve.

This gift moves us another step closer to completing a building that will expand and strengthen our ability to serve over 90,000 warm and nutritious meals every year to people experiencing homelessness and other challenges in our community.

Construction is moving forward, but we still have fundraising to do. Our goal is to complete the new building and have it ready for use by April or May of 2027!

Thank you again to the Consumers Energy Foundation for believing in our mission and investing in the future of the Haven. We are grateful for partners who help us turn plans on paper into places where lives can change.

Baylee from Kellogg Community Credit Union visited the Haven today with a raffle prize for the Haven's upcoming ⛳️ Golf outing! (August 14th!) A beautiful charcuterie kit, complete with a board shaped like Michigan!! What a great raffle prize!! Thanks Baylee and KCCU!!
