ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:
Next Week(Aug. 12 - 16): (Paving & Topsoil)
- Monday – Wednesday: 2 layers of asphalt pavement will be placed on the roadway. Multi Use trail on west side of 3/66 will be paved. Parking lots and driveways connections will also be paved.
- Thursday – Friday: Topsoil will be placed in boulevards and center of roundabout. Pond grading and underdrains near the Chamber Building. Install remaining street light poles.

Major Phase 1 Items Remaining: (what to expect over the next 3 weeks)
- Asphalt Paving
- Topsoil
- Seeding, Plantings, & Turf Establishment
- Signs
- Pavement Markings
- Site Cleanup, Restoration, Traffic Control Removal

Phase 2 Construction Update: (Begins September 2nd)
1. Traffic Control plan on CSAH 3 between CSAH 66 and Ostlund Ave:
a. Road closed to through traffic. Businesses accessible at all times for local traffic. The Road grade is not changing significantly and will be passable for traffic.
b. Intersection of CSAH 3/37/Pioneer Dr open to traffic.
2. Traffic Control plan on CSAH 66 between Swann Dr and Bald Eagle Trial.
a. Road closed to through traffic. Businesses accessible at all times for local traffic using CSAH 66 (from north and south).
b. The Contractor will remove pavement on east side of CSAH 66, begin grading, and install storm sewer. Local traffic will utilize the west half of CSAH 66 to access businesses in the closure area.
c. Once the east side is graded, the contractor will remove pavement on the west side of CSAH 66, begin grading, and install storm sewer. Local traffic will utilize the east half of CSAH 66 to access businesses in the closure area.

REMINDER: The construction site/roundabout is NOT OPEN to thru traffic. Please continue to use the detour so that the heavy equipment operators can move around freely. 🚜

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE - CROSSLAKE AREA - Phase 1 of the CR 3 and CR 66 intersection and pedestrian improvement project will begin on July 8th. This phase is from the Pine River Bridge to Swann Drive. The intersection will be closed and a detour utilizing CR 36, CR 37, Pioneer Dr. and Swann Dr. will be put in place. Temporary access points for the Corps of Engineers Recreational Area and the Historic Village will be established between the bridge and the intersection, accessible from CR 3 south.

All businesses north and east of the intersection will be accessible also and ready to serve you. Please have patience during the beginning of the project as traffic changes and signage are put in place.

The roundabout at CR 3 and CR 4 north of Merrifield is progressing. Due to June rains, the intersection will not be open by July 4th as originally hoped for. Mid-July is now the anticipated date.

Some on-line mapping services are indicating that CR 3 is closed at the intersection. Please know that the CR 3 bypass lane remains in-place for use and only CR 4 is under a detour.

With the recent heavy rainfall in the Brainerd Lakes Area, we are experiencing higher-than-normal water levels on our lakes and waterways. This poses increased risks to our shorelines, docks, lifts, and other lakeside amenities.

With more rain in the forecast, we would like to remind boaters that they are responsible for their wake and encourage them to operate at a Slow No Wake speed when close to the shoreline. Currently, the DNR recommends a slow no-wake zone of at least 200 feet, and sometimes an even greater distance may be appropriate.

While we await the water levels to return to normal, please operate your vessels with extra care.
