The CC on Main Manifesto
Where Community + Connection Come Together

We believe that you were made for community. Not the kind you scroll past, but the kind you sit down inside of — where your name is known, your coffee order is remembered, and the chair across from you is always pulled out and waiting.

We believe that faith is the root of everything good here. That this place did not come together by chance. That every open door, every warm cup, and every stranger who becomes a friend is a small and beautiful act of grace. We welcome all, and we are grateful to the One who gathers us.

We believe in gathering on purpose. In showing up for the neighbor you haven’t met yet. In the senior who has something to teach and the child who has everything to learn. In the veteran with stories that deserve to be heard and the mama who just needs five minutes of quiet company. We believe every person who walks through this door belongs here.

Fill My Cup Friday ☕️💜

Out-of-town attractions lift up small towns in the biggest ways — and Baxter has one of the biggest hearts around. 💟

My husband is my behind-the-scenes MVP — does ALL the grunt work and I couldn’t do any of this without him. 💪❤️

My 8-year-old is a certified thrifting enthusiast who gets genuinely upset if I leave without him. 😂 Future junker, no question.

And my right-hand woman Jen Booth of Corner Booth Creations shows up for me every single time — my junking buddy, my mental support, and she brings her own amazing products too. 💜

I’ve also invited some special vendors joining us this weekend —Corner Booth Creations Marie Collective

🚁✨ Some moments you just can’t make up.

This morning at Veterans Coffee, Lynn — a Vietnam Huey pilot — sent me a photo from his phone at 8:38AM of the actual aircraft he flew in Vietnam.

At 8:39AM, a fellow vet Rich, opened the door and said “There’s a Huey in the sky.”

We laughed thinking he was being playful with Lynn!

He wasn’t joking. 🥹

This small-town coffee shop is honored each time our veterans choose to spend their Thursday mornings here with us.

The stories. The community. The connection… the HISTORY. ❤️🤍💙

As Memorial Day approaches, I’ll be sharing original interviews and footage from the veterans behind our local Huey memorial.

Stories of courage, sacrifice, brotherhood, and service — stories that deserve to be heard, remembered, and felt again. ❤️🤍💙

“Vietnam war only : 1966 - 1967 and 1969 - 1970 as helicopter pilot flying “HUEYS”!
1200 hours of combat flying 🇺🇸🚁🤓”

Something beautiful is taking root at CC on Main. ✨

We are just getting started——and friend, the calendar ahead has us absolutely glowing. 🤩😎🥰

CC on Main was always meant to be more than a venue.

It’s a gathering place. A space where community is built, seasons are celebrated, and people leave feeling more connected than when they walked in.

This vision was YEARS in the making — and we are so honored and GRATEFUL to FINALLY be stepping BACK INTO IT 🙏

Here’s a little peek at what’s ahead…

THIS SUMMER ☀️
🎵 Music + Lattes — live music on the patio

F•R•I•E•N•D•S
Circa 1994-2004 Trivia Series — “We were on a break!” — “How You Doin’”—- “Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat…”

💙Senior Resource Series ☕️ + connection — Jasper County leaders joining us with education, resources, and connection this summer💝

🐾 Herky + Stella — dog-themed community pop-in events, lighthearted and family-friendly — pups, people + purpose on the patio.

🍷 An Evening in Tuscany — October. Candlelight. Curated wines. Warm conversation. Say less. 🕯️
LOOKING AHEAD ✨

🎶 Speakeasy Night — Late January. 1920s flair, signature menu, piano keys, and roaring 20s!

🌷 Tea + Crumpets: Generational Etiquette Sampling — One week after Easter. A Kate Spade–inspired afternoon for grandmothers, mothers & daughters. Spring dresses encouraged. Joy required. 💗

Every single one of these events was designed with YOU in mind — community, seasons, and stories.

Years of programming already lives in this heart of mine — built on decades of relationships, rooted in community, and Guided by our Savior, who redeems every DREAM for something Greater🙏

Stay close. You won’t want to miss what’s coming.

When Trauma Lives in the Body

Science now confirms what many survivors have always felt: trauma doesn’t just live in the mind — it lives in the body. Painful experiences etch themselves into tissues, muscles, and even organs, shaping how we move, breathe, and respond to the world.

Studies reveal that traumatic memories can linger in the nervous system, causing chronic stress, inflammation, and even disease decades later. A racing heart, tense shoulders, or sudden stomach aches may not simply be “in your head” — they may be echoes of wounds long past.

But there is hope. Practices like therapy, yoga, breathwork, and somatic healing are showing that the body, too, can be taught to release and let go. Healing is not only about changing thoughts — it’s about reconnecting with the body, listening to its signals, and teaching it that safety has returned.

Trauma leaves scars, but they do not have to define us. Our bodies, just like our hearts, carry the power to remember — and to heal.
