For nearly three decades, the Maggie Fischer Memorial Great South Bay Cross Bay Swim has brought our community together through courage, remembrance, and an incredible commitment to supporting one another. This Friday, we’re proud to once again be part of this meaningful Long Island tradition.

The historic 5.6-mile journey takes swimmers across the Great South Bay, from the Fire Island Lighthouse to Brightwaters. First held in 1927 and dedicated to Maggie Fischer following the swim’s revival in 1999, the event continues to celebrate the generous, kindhearted spirit with which Maggie lived her life.

The Cross Bay Swim has held a special place in the Ramsay family’s hearts for more than 20 years. Rick has proudly completed the challenging swim six times, and our family has been honored to support the event, its volunteers, and the mission it represents year after year.

This year will be especially meaningful as Rick’s nephew, Kyle, takes on his second Cross Bay Swim with Rick’s son, Eric, alongside him as his kayaker. Together, they will make the journey across the bay in loving memory of Rick’s sister, Dawn.

That is what the Cross Bay Swim is all about: family, community, remembrance, and showing up for one another.
