A rare geomagnetic storm, of KP index around 8, is expected tonight and again tomorrow night. These are rare solar storms and solar storms of this magnitude will cause dazzling northern light displays with impulses of vivid colors overhead across the entire Midwest. Smoke will be around for some areas, so where it is dense, it will be more difficult to see. There will be less smoke for a broader area tomorrow night but go out after sunset both tonight and tomorrow night and BE PATIENT.
