Who remembers the early days of the internet? before Facebook, before Insta now known as “Meta” 😒
Now we are being prepared to embrace Web 3.0, how exciting! NOT!!!
Don’t get me wrong, nuance can be exciting, technologically advancing is great and these apps at our disposal are great tools that serve their purpose for many things.
One thing I’m certain it’s not good for is our mental, emotional and physical health. Especially when over consumption is at play.
I’ve noticed after the pandemic started my social media consumption increased by a lot (and I know I’m not the only one). I said to myself once life goes back to “normal” it will stop. “I’ll be focused on other things”
Well…life doesn’t seem to be getting back to “normal” and if I’ve learned anything in my spiritual practice is that the greatest power we have, is the power we have within ourselves.
To me my biggest and most important task as I journey through this human experience is to harvest that power not give my power away.
Lately when I open this app I feel my power taken away. I feel depleted by the constant images, news, ads, quotes, etc… just entertainment and mostly irrelevant to what’s really important to me.
So I’m choosing to sign off for awhile.
Not sure how long, maybe a few weeks or months. As long as my soul needs to getting into full alignment with what I truly value.
In the meantime, hope y’all have a great start to the new year ✌🏽☮️
