π£ PSA TO ALL HOME BUYERS:
π Starting Saturday, August 17th a REALTOR CAN NOT β show you a home unless you have signed a representation agreement with them. π That includes virtual tours for out of town clients. This will be non negotiable for any real estate agent with a REALTOR designation (which is all agents in the greater Houston area who have access to our MLS). If any REALTOR shows a home without an agreement in place, they face a hefty fine and other possible penalties.
π The form between buyer and REALTOR is a Buyers Representation Agreement. That agreement is basically your contract between you and that REALTOR saying you will be hiring them to purchase a home and agree to the roles, duties and responsibilities owed to you by your agent and your duties to your agent.
π£οΈ π©πΌβπ¦° Interviewing and coming to an agreement with the agent of your choice is an important decision and not one that should be forced upon you. Interview, and choose wisely. The good news is that together, we get to decide when our agreement expires. ππΌ
π
π These agreements have been around for a long time. Agreements are and always have been negotiated, just like compensation.
π Remember, interview your REALTOR, get referrals from your friends, and make your decision.
π‘ Purchasing a home is a HUGE step! Youβll want someone that will look out for your best interest, someone that knows the local market well, someone that understands the contracts and addenda, someone that can explain your contractual deadlines and someone that will answer your call or text!
π±You can call us anytime if youβd like more details. The agents at RE/MAX Excellence are happy to be your REALTOR and help you achieve your goals and homeownership dreams!
