Every spring this spot in Waukegan turns into a sea of blue 💙

These are Siberian squill (Scilla siberica)—not native, but they’ve naturalized here over the years and now they come back stronger every season. No planting crews, no maintenance… just nature doing its thing.

It’s become one of those little hidden gems in the area that people look forward to every year.

If you catch it at the right time, it’s unreal.

The new cafe in Zion is open! Please give them some grace as they get their systems on lock and start running like a well oiled machine. They’re doing amazing! They’re super friendly and will to the extra mile to help everyone. See yall there!

It’s their time to shine! 🌼

Crocus are starting to pop up around the area, and they’re always one of the first real signs that spring is on the way. These little flowers push right through the cold soil and sometimes even snow to start the season.

Snowdrops are another early bloomer you may see around the same time. Together they’re usually the first splash of color after a long winter.

If you have crocus or snowdrops in your lawn, try to let them finish their bloom cycle and allow the leaves to stay up for a bit before mowing. That foliage helps feed the bulb so it can come back strong again next year.

Keep an eye out around your yard and neighborhood — they’re starting to show up more and more right now.
