2026 Community For A Cure | Thanks to the incredible support and participation from our community, this year’s Community For A Cure raised $23,320.58 for The Beaufort Foundation benefiting the Beaufort Memorial Keyserling Cancer Center. Croquet and tennis welcomed players from Sun City last week for a day of friendly competition on the courts & lawn. It was a great opportunity to connect with another local community and enjoy a fun day of competition together on Dataw Island, a special place to gather both on and off the courts.

Dataw Island Quilters Open Air Exhibit | On display yesterday at The Ruins, quilts lovingly made for the three-year-old classes at St. Helena Early Learning Center. Each quilt is gifted to a child at the start of the school year to use throughout the program before eventually taking it home to keep. A meaningful project from the Dataw Island Quilters that continues to make a lasting impact year after year.

2026 Ladies Member-Guest | Members and guests gathered on Dataw Island to compete in this year’s Ladies Member-Guest Tournament, themed “La Dolce Vita.” Players braved the rain over the two-day event, keeping momentum and spirits high throughout. Thank you to our members, guests, staff, sponsors, and the Ladies Member-Guest Committee for making this year a success. Congratulations to our champions Terri Jodoin and Patty Helmstetter in the 18-hole division, and Nadine Winters and Abigail Bickham in the 9-hole division.

Dataw Island was proud to host the 2026 CAA Men’s Golf Championship on our Cotton D**e course, welcoming some of the top collegiate talent in the country.

Congratulations to James Rico of UNCW, who earned medalist honors with a record-setting 14-under 202, and to the UNCW Men’s Golf team on capturing the team title at 38-under 826, including a tournament-best 20-under 268 in the final round. Congratulations as well to the many talented players and collegiate programs who traveled to compete this year, showcasing exceptional play and sportsmanship throughout the championship.

Special athletes from three local schools hit the courts at Dataw Island for another unforgettable day of tennis, teamwork, and big smiles! Through the Public Tennis program and SOAR Special Recreation, these players enjoyed an annual end-of-season gathering on Dataw to showcase their skills, cheer each other on, and celebrate how far they’ve come this season. Huge thanks to the Dataw Island Tennis Association (DITA) for making it all happen—and most of all, to these amazing athletes who inspire us every time they play!
