If someone would have told me being a Realtor meant I had the opportunity to get free brisket, win gift cards & hang out with some cool people I would have started right out of high school.

I really had no idea this was what life was going to look like when I started. Over the years I’ve met some of my very best friends, had so much fun, helped so many people. At all these events we go to we say a blessing. My friends at my office are also my friends at church. God is good!

What happened to honesty?

Today everyone is worried about upsetting others that they forgot how important honesty is.

Years ago I met with a man about selling his home. I feel people trust me and they tell me a lot of information.
He told me all these stories about how he has tried to sell it for years. He told me he had homeless people do repairs and what a terrible job they did. All this and other personal information that wasn’t relevant to our business relationship.

I was still newly licensed- I had been a real estate assistant prior. One thing about me - I don’t lie.

I wrote this man an email and told him that has home wasn’t worth what he thought it was. I pointed out that he knew the repairs were not the best. That he had been trying to sell that home for 7 years. It was a very raw, honest email. I said to myself, he is either going to be very offended or he is going to hire me.

I sold that home for what I said it would sell for in 2 weeks.
