There’s a difference between being knowledgeable and being negative.

In this industry, we all cross paths with builders, contractors, third-party vendors, inspectors, Realtors, lenders, title companies and more. We won’t always agree, and sometimes there are real issues that need to be addressed.

Bad-mouthing another company, exaggerating problems, or trying to make someone else look incompetent doesn’t make you look more credible.

It usually does the opposite.

Strong professionals don’t need to tear down someone else’s work to prove the value of their own.

Bring facts. Bring solutions. Raise legitimate concerns when necessary.

It is always best to leave cheap shots out of it.

Your reputation is built just as much by how you speak about others as it is by how you speak about yourself.
