A day of celebrations – Oregon’s Birthday AND Valentine’s Day!

On February 14, 1859, the Beaver State was officially granted statehood status, with today marking 165 years of Oregon’s statehood. Our Emerio Design, LLC team celebrated with a session of cookie decorating, followed by a delicious session of cookie eating and group celebration. Emerio Design, LLC is a proud sponsor of Team 19439 Disconnect from Beaverton’s ACMA (Arts & Communication Magnet Academy).

They have been competing in the STEAM Education events throughout the year as part of the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), a program designed for 7th-12th grade. Some of their highlights include having 10 wins and 0 losses in their league competitions and setting an Oregon state record for points!

The FTC team meets several times a week but also invites non-team members to Robotics Club on the first Wednesday of every month. Students can learn about STEM and robotics from the team without having to make the commitment of being on a competitive team.

As a subconsultant to Environmental Science Associates, Emerio Design, LLC is providing civil engineering and surveying services for the development of this new Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District 2-acre park located in Washington County, Oregon. For more than 80 years, the site was a private residence with various natural features and beautiful mature trees.

Emerio Design, LLC provided design and permitting for public right of way improvements, design of a new cul-de-sac with stormwater LIDA facilities, enhanced pedestrian crossings, sidewalk improvements, and storm sewer management for the addition of the cul-de-sac. Shout out to Nicholas Rhodes and Kamm Fowler for their significant contributions!

In addition, Emerio Design, LLC's survey team performed topographic and boundary survey for design, tree survey, and utility locates that is now supporting the work of Emerio Design’s civil engineering team. The future park will feature a multipurpose court, two covered picnic areas, paved and soft-surface paths, open lawn areas surrounded by trees and natural plantings, and multiple play areas including a water play feature.

We presented our project submission for our work on OOregon Department of TransportationOR99, Cottage Grove Urban Update and received an honor award!

Emerio Design, LLC is proud to be part of this joint Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) and Oregon Department of Transportation landslide restoration project in NW Portland. This area, particularly NW Thurman Street, has a history of landslides, dating back to at least 1956 (check out the historic photo below!).

In 2017, another landslide occurred between two private residences. Emerio Design, LLC engineer Anthony Quinn, PE provided roadway design and traffic control design while engineers Rick Fensler, P.E. and Dan Ingram provided utility coordination for this restoration project and worked closely with teaming partners Delve Underground (formerly McMillian/Jacobs) PBOT, and ODOT.

To avoid impact to an existing crib wall as well as provide soil stabilization, geogrid with compacted backfill was constructed for each affected private property downslope from the right-of-way. Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is repairing the right-of-way at the top of the slope impacted by the landslide by strengthening the street and underlying roadway prism. Construction began in August 2023 and is nearing final completion.

With 25 years of engineering and land development experience, Eric is re-joining the Emerio team as a Senior Project Manager. He will be supporting our private development team and land use planning team.

Construction continues at an impressive pace!

Located near the historic Rose Farm Museum on Holmes Lane, Emerio Design, LLC's team is providing site development/civil engineering, land use planning, and the residential design for a 60-unit residential planned community in the City of Oregon City.

Our team is responsible for engineering design and drafting, addressing all stormwater improvements and providing a stormwater report, and providing field coordination and construction observation throughout the project. Construction continues on the Portland Bureau of Environmental Services, Columbia Blvd. Wastewater Treatment Plant. This Secondary Treatment Expansion Program(STEP) is the largest improvement project at the plant since the 1970’s.

Emerio Design, LLC has been working with prime teaming partners Jacobs Engineering Group and Carleton Hart Architecture PC on this multi-phase, multi-year site redevelopment to increase capacity and prevent unnecessary overburden of the treatment plant. Emerio Design, LLC has been providing civil engineering, full topographic surveying, and as-built tunnel scanning.

We are grateful for another year of working with our amazing team!

Check out all the smiles at Emerio Design, LLC's Holiday Party at Legend’s Billiard Room. Our event included delicious food and drinks, billiards, prizes, and best of all - a gift wrapping station for everyone to wrap their Candlelighters gifts.

Candlelighters For Children With Cancer is one of Emerio Design’s 2023 Community Generosity partners and they work directly with families affected by childhood cancer. Please consider donating to this wonderful organization that supports families throughout Oregon going through the cancer journey.

This 4-story, 38,000 square foot housing complex will have 85 units and is located adjacent to Cedar Commons, another great project that Emerio and our affordable housing project lead Steve Hansen contributed to.
