When we first started out as real estate agents, before marriage and kids, we were determined to find a multi-family property. In July of 2009, a rough, bank-owned duplex hit the market, and we saw the opportunity immediately. Our plan was simple: fix it up, live there for a few years, and eventually keep it as an investment.

Fast forward to today, and that duplex has been one of our best decisions. We have been fortunate to have amazing tenants, including one who just moved out after nine years. Now, watching our kids excitedly help us prepare the unit for the next tenants is such a full-circle moment.
