The City of Bedford is applying for a $350,000 Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation (OOR) Grant through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) to assist eligible homeowners with critical home repairs and accessibility improvements. Pre-Applications are due by 4pm on Friday, October 9, 2026.
If awarded, the grant would provide funding to qualifying Bedford homeowners at ๐ป๐ผ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐ผ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ผ๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ. The program is designed to help residents remain safely and comfortably in their homes by addressing essential housing needs that may otherwise create financial hardship.
Eligible repairs include:

Heating and cooling system replacement

Water heater replacement
โ
ADA accessibility modifications to home entrances
To qualify for assistance, applicants must own and occupy the home as their primary residence within Bedford city limits, and total household income must be at or below 80 percent of the Area Median Income.
