To the oddest duck
The one who always has at least one toe over the line
The one who feels so deeply it’s crushing at times
The one who is so fierce I’m convinced her dark eyes could cut a man
The one who loves so completely it rivals the faith of a zealot
She makes you work for her attention
For her affection
She holds you to standards you didn’t know you were capable of reaching
She is the clearest mirror
For this, she makes everyone around her a better version
She is still so innocent in her heart despite being burned by those who were supposed to protect her at all costs
She is the epitome of hope

And she’s barely 16

As her feet become more firmly planted in this world, I know whatever her contributions are… they’ll force an evolution and nothing will ever be the same again.
