Here’s something I’ve noticed lately…

A lot of people assume their next move means finding a slightly bigger version of what they already have.

A bigger house.
A bigger yard.
A bigger payment.

But the conversations I’m having with buyers lately sound different.

They’re talking about having room for hobbies.
A dedicated home office.
Space for a workshop.
Being closer to the water.
Having a slower Saturday morning.

This home on Maryland’s Eastern Shore caught my attention because it represents that shift perfectly.

Nearly 4,000 square feet, an acre of land, water access to Southeast Creek, and a detached garage with a vehicle lift that would make a lot of hobbyists, boat owners, contractors, and car enthusiasts very happy.

But what really stood out to me wasn’t the house.

It was the lifestyle.

Imagine spending the morning on the water, grabbing lunch in Chestertown, meeting friends for oysters at The Retriever, a little shopping at Molly’s, or spending an afternoon at Bohemia Manor Farm Winery — all while still being close enough to Maryland job centers, family, and everything you’re connected to today.

That’s what many buyers discover during their search.

What starts as “I need more house” often becomes:
