What is most important to you when designing a school calendar?

Before a draft of the 2027-2028 HCPS School Calendar is created, Superintendent Dr. Dyann R. Mack is inviting the community to a Listening Session on September 8 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the Board Room at the A. A. Roberty Building.

As you prepare your comments, please remember that calendar development must follow negotiated agreements and state requirements, including holidays, professional development days, and required instructional hours and days.

As summer winds down, many of our lifeguards are heading back to school. This means we have fewer lifeguards and fewer towers in service. Lifeguards are on duty daily from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
When you arrive at the beach, please take a few extra minutes to walk to the nearest lifeguard tower and swim there. The safest place to swim is always in front of a stand with a lifeguard.
The lifeguard locations for this week are:
South Division St
2nd St
12th St
22nd St
32nd St
42nd St
52nd St
62nd St
72nd St
82nd St
92nd St
Ashore
Rainbow
122nd St
132nd St
142nd St

Lifeguards will generally be found within one half block of these advertised locations. Lifeguard locations may change during the day due to staffing or unforeseen circumstances, so please check for the closest active tower when you arrive at the beach.
