The Historic Opera Block is currently undergoing a massive upper-floor restoration, and we couldn’t be more thankful for the incredible team helping bring new life back into this landmark building. ❤️

From skilled tradespeople and craftsmen to architects, engineers, designers, and the many people working behind the scenes — thank you for investing your talent, creativity, and passion into something that will help shape the future vibrancy and energy of Downtown Bellefontaine for generations to come.

As we continue creating new loft apartments, office space, and spaces for training, collaboration, and events, we’ve also uncovered beautiful pieces of the building’s history along the way. Historic artifacts, original details, and hidden stories are being carefully preserved and thoughtfully incorporated into the future of the building so they can continue to be shared with our tenants, guests, and community for many years to come.

There’s something incredibly special about honoring the past while building for the future.

Do you love a fast-paced environment, great people, and the smell of fresh-baked cookies? We’re looking for a reliable, friendly team member to join the Lab!

✨ Who you are:
• Dependable and ready to jump in
• Friendly (think bucket-of-sunshine warm ☀️)
• Comfortable multitasking and helping customers
• Willing to clean, scrub, and keep the Lab sparkling
• Respectful of our scent-free workspace
• Willing to complete PIC (Person in Charge) and Allergen training

🧁 What you’ll do:
Help with cleaning, packaging cookies, preparing drinks, scooping dough, restocking supplies, dishes, inventory, and getting ready for events.

🕘 Typical hours:
Thursday–Saturday around 9 am – 1 pm - this is negotiable
(Schedule may flex depending on events.)

Ohio’s Own “Yeti”? Meet the Grassman! 🌲

While the Himalayas have the Yeti, Ohio has its own legendary creature known as the Grassman — Ohio’s version of Bigfoot.

Here are a few fun facts about the legend:

👣 First Sightings – Reports of a large, hairy creature roaming Ohio date back to the 1800s, particularly in eastern Ohio.

🌿 Why “Grassman”? – Witnesses claimed the creature built large nests made of grass and branches, sometimes 10 feet wide, giving it the nickname “Grassman.”

🌳 Bigfoot Territory – Many sightings come from wooded areas and parks across Ohio, especially Salt Fork State Park, which some call “Ohio’s Bigfoot Capital.”

📏 Massive Tracks – Similar to Yeti stories, people have reported huge footprints in mud and snow, sometimes over 16 inches long.

👀 Still Spotted Today – Every year, hikers and campers still claim to see mysterious shapes or hear strange sounds deep in Ohio’s forests.

If you haven’t stopped by One-Eyed Cookie Lab in Downtown Bellefontaine… what are you even doing?!

These aren’t just cookies.
They’re quarter-pound, scratch-made, locally crafted works of art. No artificial junk. Just big, bold, fresh-baked goodness coming out of their “lab” right here on Court Street.

There’s something special about grabbing a warm cookie and strolling through our historic downtown. That’s the kind of small-town magic that makes Bellefontaine different.
