Did you know that your credit score when you apply for an auto loan is different from your credit score when you apply for a credit card, which is also different from your credit score when you apply for a home loan?

This may sound a little crazy and honestly a bit confusing, but it’s true.

The reason for this is because there are industry-specific scorecards. The way your credit score is calculated for an auto loan is different from how it’s calculated when you apply for a credit card.

If you have a repossession on your credit report that is going to affect your credit score for an auto loan a lot more than it would affect your credit score if you were applying for a credit card.

Removing inquiries and late payments aren’t going to help you qualify for a mortgage as much as removing a foreclosure would.
