Apparently, September 27–October 3 is THE BEST WEEK to buy a home in 2026, according to Realtor.com.

Who knew? We’ve apparently been waiting all year for the housing stars to align. 😂

🍂 More homes to choose from
👀 Less competition
💰 Sellers may be a little more motivated
☕ Cooler weather = fewer people sweating through their shirt while house hunting

And according to Wally, the most important factor is whether the house has a good spot for napping. Priorities, people. 🐶😂

Alright, people. Another property-review for your Sunday morning.

I have reviewed 716 Myrtle St in Staunton, IL.

Here’s my professional assessment:

🏡 House? Yep.
🛏️ 3 bedrooms? Plenty of nap options.
🛁 2 bathrooms? Humans seem to like those.
🌳 Big backyard? Now we're talking.
🐕 Privacy fence? 10/10. Keeps me contained so I don't wander off and accidentally list the neighbor's house. 😂
🚗 Garage? Good place for human stuff.
☀️ Covered patio? Prime real estate for lounging.

And apparently the humans are also excited because this place has a NEW ROOF, NEW HVAC, NEW WATER HEATER, NEW ELECTRICAL PANEL, NEW SEWER CONNECTION + GRINDER PUMP.

Basically, somebody already did a whole bunch of the expensive stuff.

AND NOW IT'S $115,000. 👀

Which brings me to my official recommendation:

Twenty-five years later, I still remember.

I remember where I was. I remember the uncertainty. And I remember watching our country change in a matter of hours.

As someone who spent 23 years wearing the uniform of the United States Air Force, September 11 has never been just a date on the calendar for me.

It became a line in the sand.

For those of us who served after that day, the events of September 11 didn't end when the towers fell. They followed us to bases around the world, onto airplanes, into deployments, and into the lives of our families.

Nearly 3,000 Americans were murdered that day.

And in the years that followed, 6,922 U.S. service members would lose their lives in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Behind every number was a name.

Behind every name was a family.

A spouse who waited for the knock on the door.

A child who grew up without a parent.

A mother and father who never got their son or daughter home.

And thousands more came home carrying wounds that weren't always visible.

Today, isn't about politics or whether every decision made in the years that followed was right or wrong.

There is a time for those conversations.

Today is about remembering.

Remember the innocent lives taken on September 11.

Remember the first responders who ran toward the danger.

Remember the service members who answered the call in the years that followed.

Remember the families who sacrificed alongside them.

And remember the unity we felt in the days after September 11—a country that, for a brief moment, seemed to remember that we were Americans before we were anything else.

Twenty-five years later, we remember.
We honor.
We give thanks.
And we will never forget.
