PÆRE is the second of four residences at HJEMSTED, a limited collection of Scandinavian-inspired homes by Terrain Signature Properties, set on a historic orchard site in Normandy Park.

Named after the Norwegian word for pear, PÆRE carries a character distinctly its own. Where EPLE is luminous and warm, PÆRE is deeper, more considered, and rooted in its surroundings.

Every major design decision — from orientation and window placement to material selection — started with the site itself. The result is a home shaped by natural light, west-facing views, and a lasting connection to place.

On a quiet coastal bluff in Normandy Park, Washington, a century-old orchard has become the foundation for something rare in Pacific Northwest residential development — a project that begins not with architecture, but with the land itself.

HJEMSTED, the Norwegian word for homestead, is a limited collection of four new construction residences by Terrain Signature Properties. The name was not chosen for its resonance. It was inherited from the ground — farmed by Norwegian settlers, cultivated for over a hundred years, and now continued in the form of four west-facing homes oriented to frame Puget Sound and the Cascade Mountains.
