Scale and proportion are two of the most important factors when choosing staging for a home. Unfortunately, one size definitely doesn’t fit all, but by picking the proper pieces, you allow potential buyers to focus on how the space makes them feel, rather than what they need to do to make it functional.
On a recent listing, we had a space off the kitchen that lacked clarity about what it’s best use would be. Too small for a formal living room and seemed redundant to have an informal dining space with the dining room and barstool countertop right nearby.
With several previous listings to reference, we were able to see that the space often felt overcrowded and confusing, rather than fantastic additional space that could be a major selling point for many families. By making strategic and thoughtful choices with our staging, the space felt light, airy and incredibly functional. My clients first reaction was, “We wish we had done this years ago!” Sometimes, all it takes is a fresh eye and a new perspective to elevate a space to reach it’s full potential.
